Welcome to Our School and Our Community

Chemainus Secondary School (CHSS) wishes to welcome all new and returning students to the 2018-2019 school year. Chemainus Secondary is a Grade 8-12 school of approximately 300 students that provides a full educational program within a flexible, caring and safe environment.

Chemainus is a picturesque town located on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The town is internationally recognized due to the 30+ huge murals painted on buildings throughout the community depicting the history of the local area. Students come from Chemainus as well as the neighboring communities Crofton and Saltair.

Chemainus Secondary is offering food safe level one training, which is being instructed by www. saferfood.ca on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

This certificate is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course designed for food services establishment operators and frontline food-service workers. This would include things such as cooks, servers, dishwashers, and deli workers. This course offers important food safety and worker safety information including food borne illnesses, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food,cleaning, and sanitizing.

This is a one all day course. Students who register will not be in attendance in their regular classes.

The cost is $45. Starts at 8:45am sharp and ends at 3:15pm
